Manchester United begin their Champions League defence as 5/1 favourites to lift the trophy in Rome next May. Premier League rivals Chelsea are 11/2, Arsenal are 11/1 and Liverpool are 14/1.
The Reds have been drawn against last season’s La Liga runners up, Villarreal. There will also be two all-British battles with Scottish champions Celtic and ties against Danish team Aalborg.
All of the English teams have been installed as firm favorites to top their groups, with United priced at 4/11. Chelsea are 1/2, Arsenal 4/6 and Liverpool, who have a tough path in Group D, at Evens.
Former United striker Diego Forlan now plays for Spanish side Atletico Madrid and has been priced at 10/1 in a cheeky bet for him to score in either group game against Liverpool by nutmegging the goalkeeper. You can also get odds of 25/1 on John Arne Riise (ex-Liverpool, now AS Roma) to score an own goal against Chelsea in either group game.
